Orbis, Inc., a leading land asset technology company that helps simplify the acquisition and management of large land holdings, announced that its next Campfire Sessions webinar, “Cybersecurity: Threats, Trends and Tips for the Timberland Investment Community,” will take place on November 3, 2021 at 9 AM ET.
The free event will be live-streamed from the University of Georgia’s Timberland Investment Conference, hosted by the Harley Langdale, Jr. Center for Forest Business, in Amelia Island, Florida. The webinar session will focus on cybersecurity and its impacts on business operations in the timberland industry. Attendees will hear from industry leaders on their experiences with cyberattacks, proactive protective measures, best practices for security and more.
“The Timberland Investment Conference has been a long-standing tradition in the industry, and we’re thrilled to have Orbis, Inc. on as our title sponsor this year,” said Joe Parsons, Director, Harley Langdale, Jr. Center for Forest Business. “Hosting their Campfire Sessions series live adds a special element to the conference agenda, and I think the attendees will really benefit from the cybersecurity topic.”
The Orbis webinar will feature speakers Tom Sarno, Head of Timberland Investments, Hancock Natural Resource Group; Stephen Logan, Chief Information Officer, F&W Forestry Services, Inc.; and Kevin Zerrusen, Cybersecurity Managing Director, EY Americas. The session will be moderated by Onnie Killand, Business Development Manager, Orbis, Inc.
Clarence Neese, Orbis, Inc. Co-Founder and Vice President, will also participate on the panel and says cybersecurity awareness is crucial for timberland investors.
“Our industry’s data is just as vulnerable as any other sector’s,” said Neese. “We should all be more proactive about protecting information for ourselves, our clients and our investors.”
