Orbis, Inc., a leading land asset technology company that helps simplify the acquisition and management of large land holdings, has announced that its next Campfire Sessions webinar, “ESG 101: What Is It And How Does It Apply To Land Asset Management?,” will take place on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 2 PM ET.
During the free virtual event, attendees will hear from sustainability leaders who are navigating the landscape of environmental social governance (ESG) in the land asset management and natural resource industries. Steps that can be taken to adopt and adhere to ESG trends and policies will also be discussed.
While sustainability was once only a concern for a handful of investors, today it is widely integrated into investment criteria and strategies. In the forestry sector, investors use ESG factors to evaluate the sustainability, ethical impact, risks and opportunities of a potential investment. There is a growing focus on the role forestry programs can play in limiting global warming and reducing carbon emissions, and interest in ESG-ready investments is expected to accelerate with the COVID-19 pandemic likely resulting in more action aimed at tackling risks related to climate change.
The Orbis webinar will feature speakers Julia Grant, Director of Policy, Partnerships and Sustainability, Green Diamond Resource Company, and MaryKate Bullen, Director of Sustainability and ESG, Forest Investment Associates. The session will be moderated by Onnie Kiland, Business Development Manager, Orbis, Inc.
