(Charlotte, N.C.) Orbis, Inc. announces the appointment of Clarence Neese, Orbis cofounder and vice president, to the University of Georgia’s Harley Langdale, Jr. Center for Forest Business Advisory Board in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.
Established in 1997 and led by current program director, Joe Parsons, the Center for Forest Business is highly regarded in the industry as the top program in the nation for those looking to enter the field.
“We are very proud to have Clarence join our Advisory Committee,” said Parsons. “As a leader in the industry, we know his input and guidance will be instrumental to our success in continuing to offer the highest quality education and opportunities for our students and alumni.”
Orbis has had a long-standing relationship with the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Many of the Orbis leadership team have been invited to speak to the classes throughout the years. A long-time participant of the bi-annual Timberland Investment Conference hosted by the Center, Orbis will once again serve as the title sponsor for the upcoming 2023 conference.
As part of the board of 15 industry leaders, Neese will assist in advising Parsons on many fronts, such as industry trends and needs, event format and programming, fundraising, as well as the appointment of future board members.
The appointment was well-received by Neese, saying, “I’m so proud of the work we do at Orbis and the innovations we’ve been able to showcase over the last two decades to help transform our industry. To work side-by-side with the Advisory Committee and the esteemed department is a great honor.”
